What did you do prior to SSCS?
Before SSCS I was a homeschool momma. Before babies I was a 4th grade teacher in Rancho Cordova.

This is my 9th year.

UC Irvine for my undergrad (Psychology & Social Behavior) and Sac State for my multiple subject teaching credential

What do you think is/are the best thing(s) about SSCS?
-parent choice -flexibility for families and staff -a wide variety of pathways for high school -huge vendor list -fiscal responsibility
Do (did) you homeschool your kids?
Yes, my kids have never been in a brick & mortar school. They have always been with SSCS.
What is your favorite curriculum?
Moving Beyond the Page & Comprehend
What is your favorite read aloud book?
Goodnight Moon will always hold a special place in my heart. “Goodnight stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere.”
What is your favorite field trip?
I loved an Amtrak ride from Sacramento to Jack London Square. My kids favorite is probably In N Out - free lunch and cool hats!

What is your dream summer vacation?
Ocean. Not the beach, I hate sand. I love hearing/watching the waves hit rocks!
What is your favorite subject to teach?
Anything hands on and engaging.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Needlework, doodling/drawing, reading, games with my family, and a new found interest in HIIT (high intensity interval training) with my husband and sons.
What is something interesting about yourself that many people might not know?
I was an extra in Sister Act 2.
